life in israel

I grew up in a “mixed” household. My father is Japanese, my mother is Canadian, and unintentionally I created the same “mixed “home for myself after meeting my husband in India and deciding to raise a family together in Israel.

I understand the cultural nuances, joys and challenges of being in a cross-cultural relationship, raising a cross-cultural family, and/or simply feeling “foreign” in Israel.

Many of my clients have been foreign diplomats living in Israel, high-tech workers from international organizations, students studying abroad, new citizens who recently made “alyiah,” or other “mixed” couples like myself who have lived here for ten+ years but still have days or moments of feeling far away from “home״.

Pregnancy and birth can be physically and emotionally overwhelming let alone adaptation to life in Israel, learning Hebrew, and trying to navigate the Israeli healthcare system with all its cultural and practical differences. Women can feel vulnerable, frustrated and even isolated during a time in life that is supposed to be empowering and enriching.

I am here to help and support you by providing Israel-specific information on differing hospital practices, and everything you need to know from family planning to postpartum care. It is important that you feel understood and cared for despite differing cultural norms and expectations.
